Temporary Lights on A607 - water repairs
Leicestershire County Council Highways has agreed works with 2 sets of temporary lights at the above location.
The restrictions within close proximity of each other is necessary for safety so Severn Trent Water can repair 2 burst water mains and restore local service supplies. 2024 Swift Report - Waltham on the Wolds
What's been happening on the Swift Project during the 2024 season?
- Five more swift nest boxes were installed in March in the Paddocks, Mill Lane, High Street, plus one at the School (the latter has a sound system attached). This makes a total of nine nest boxes installed in Waltham. In 2023 we installed four other nest boxes, two of which were fitted with sound systems.

A607 - Waltham Road closure rescheduled
Due to unforeseen circumstances - 3rd party off-site utilities works necessary for the closure have not been completed - the planned closure (21 October to 5 December 2024) will be rescheduled to take place at a later date. It is expected that this will be during spring/summer 2025. See attached letter of Leicester County Council and GallifordTry.

Downing Renewable Developments are proposing to build a solar farm off Freeby Lane, Melton Mowbray.
The project will cover 80 hectares and consists of the solar farm and co-located battery storage.
This is an open invitation local residents attend this exhibition and engage with the developers.

Consultation on Local Transport Plan 4 LCC
